Little of Everything!

So this post is pretty random but I wanted to share some other things with you besides Aiden!! lol

1. I was addicted to Vitamin Waters for a few months until I realized the sugar was 13g, so I changed to FUZE which is also awesome...FREE of sugar and 100% Vit C which I am also addicted too!!

2. I have been getting better sleep at night, thank you Aiden! A week ago I decided I was sick of getting up for a feeding mid way through the night and to help him find his pacifier etc so we went through the rough "cry it out" week and actually the only bad long night was the first one. Oddly enough, with each night the fighting got significantly shorter, I stuck to my guns and did the Ferber method by Baby Wise, and he learned in exactly 4 nights to sleep from 9p to 6a!!!! Yay for all of us!!! Ok maybe that should have been in the 7 month post :)

3. I have decided that I LOVE cooking even more than I realized. I've always cooked, even before I was married, but lately all the home-making I've been doing is actually therapeutic for me I believe! I figure since I'm home I should make some use of my cookbooks that were collecting dust so here are some of my January dishes!! If you see something you want to try, I'll be glad to email ya the recipe!! Chris said his weight-loss for softball season isn't going so good with all the home cooking I've been doing so this week I broke out the "healthy cooking" book!!

 before cooking above
 Italian Stuffed Shells...sooo good!

chocolate chip cookies...I do these better than ready made!

 what all you need above

Mixed Roasted Potato Medley...again sooo good
Pizza Cresents! I was hungry and forgot the after picture. ha

Raspberry Krustez...this one just follow box instructions!

Who says breakfast for one can't be healthy!!

Italian Pasta with zuccini, oives, mushrooms!
That's all for now...but its a new month, a new cook book, and ready to explore taste buds!!

4. Devotionals! Yes, its NECESSARY for any Christian to do this, and I admit I struggle keeping this a constant in my life. I get so busy I forget and then get back into it and repeat. I told myself after a church service we had recently that I was going to MAKE time for it each day because my personal growth, my family, friends, and most importantly my job as a mom depends on it. I got out some of my half-finished books and started on them again then made a trip to Lifeway for some new books that pertain to things (I say it helps to focus on a specific topic) and I found some great ones!! I also got some new Veggie Tales for Aiden. Also, for those stay-homes the Church Channel is pretty good. I listen to Joyce Meyers (a women's ministry preacher) every morning from 12:30-1 which is great because its right before Aiden wakes from a nap so its quiet. I start witha  devotional then watch her segment. I hope each of you find time to devote yourself to our awesome God and help me in being faithful in my time as well.

Great book to help you dig deeper in your walk with God.

Title says it all :)

Happy 7 Months!

Goodness, It feels like I just posted for his 6 months. Ughh time is really not generous on going slow these days. I LOVE this stage in his life right now, and Chris agrees! We love it because he is playing, jabbering, happy, and trying new things, BUT is not mobile yet. I am thankful because he's going to be a handful and on the go like his Daddy!! lol He had his first and second big snow at home and likes looking outside so I know summer will be fun! Aiden can say "hey or haa" and he says it  a LOT now. He is a BIG mama's boy right now and he is starting to understand when he doesn't recognize people. He actually likes playing on his stomach now, which we thought would never happen, and hasn't quite mastered sitting by him self on the floor yet mainly because he doesn't want to. He likes to kick his feet and legs so much (which I think I say in every post) so after he realizes he cant sitting he wants to be on his back or tummy kicking again!! I think we have a soccer player on our hands...

Here are a few more pictures from the past few weeks!

Happy 6 Months!!

Aiden,
How in the world has time passed so quickly? I spend every day with you but it just does not seem like enough time when I think of how soon you will be grown. This month has really made me sad b/c its the "half way to a year" month and that made me realize just how much I cherish these days! I thank God and your daddy everyday for the opportunity to stay home since right before you were born! I am glad I haven't missed a moment and hope I can continue to do this until you start school - Lord willing! You are sooooo fun now, your dad and I both wish we could stop you at this age just a little while longer. You laugh, smile, hug and kiss us, jabber, play, sleep pretty good, are on a schedule, and trying new things now but still not mobile so we like it the best! I favor it because once you do move I will worn smooth out again as you wont ever stop going I can tell already. You STILL kick your legs like crazy - you get so happy by laughing and kicking. I swear you say "Ha" as in Hey since we both say it to you very often when we come in the room or look at you, but when you cry you make a "ma" noise in there every time if we don't come see whats wrong right away. Its like you add that in calling me to come get you!! You had your first Christmas; although, you didn't realize what was happening you were cute sitting there helping us open presents and being so curious with all the commotion at the gatherings! The 6 month check up went great, all looked good, and you weighed 13lbs 8oz and was 25.5 inches. Geez baby you are going to be petite like me I guess! You are finally going into a couple 3-6M body suits from certain places but most are still plain 3M. Your hair is filling in pretty good and its so cute on top cause it sticks up from your head! You've tried all the first foods and like them all so maybe you won't end up a picky eater. Now its on to the next stage and we just let you try juice in the Nuby stage 2 cup (mix between a bottle and sippy cup) which you didn't like at first but a week later you like the organic apple juice...water is still a not so much!! ha Well you just had your second vacation since birth! At 11 wks you spent a week in Florida and now we are in Illinois!! Its snowing so you get your first snow too :) How many babies can say they've been to Destin, Panama City Beach, and Chicago by 6 months!!! I pray we can keep this up for you too. You are still mommies little photography subject and I love taking pictures of you cause I think you're the cutest thing ever!! That smile lights my day and your little grin, bright eyes, and finger stuck in the side of your mouth is too cute. I also have to say you are such a mommies boy!! We love you Ada Boo!!

Lately...

Well, Aiden is almost 5 Months (that post coming in a week) and he's changing everyday!! He is so much fun and gets cuter every week (I know he's my kid so of course I'll say that). His curiosity to learn amazes me daily and helps me strive to be a better teacher for him...

Our house-hold hasn't been up to too much lately, I like to lay low during the "sick season" so we are cozy and comfy at home most of the time! This month is busy with birthdays and the holidays. One birthday we celebrated was mine!! Chris brought me some Dunkin' Donuts and bought me some nice dress boots then took me to Longhorns that night. That weekend we had a family dinner with a few friends joining us and ate Olive Garden! Yummy.

I also have been busy venturing out a few times for myself while Chris took care of Aiden. My favorite outing was the "Refresh" night with church for the women of Broadway!! We painted pottery and had a blast and made more new friends. I'm looking forward to the next night out!

Happy 4 Months Aiden!!

Aiden's 4 months old...October!

1. He has his schedule (feeding, playtime, napping, and night sleeping) down so tight now that he's pretty much predictable! He used to do better while we were out b/c he would sleep the whole time but now its opposite! He loves to be in his bed (pack-n-play...yes he's still in our room) and cries if he's tired an we're out. He's now skipping the middle of night feeding so we usually go from 9pm to 5am with the occasional nights of waking once or twice fussing b/c he has a dirty diaper, wants his paci that fell out, or just is awake and needs his momma! So I've been trying to let him "cry it out" a bit if I know its the last reason!! Yesterday I started letting him take naps in his actual crib and it didn't go so great. Today I laid him in there while I hung up all his clothes and let him play and get used to it as something good not scary and then tried the afternoon nap today in there and its going good so far!

2. The 4 month check up went great last week too. He got his second round of shots, daddy went this time and it made him sad to watch, and only cried a minute. His measurements were: 11lbs 8oz and 24 inches long! He's still little but I think its so cute, and since he's healthy its all good! He's just now in 0-3 month clothes and some 3M if they have footie's attached. So Christmas we're gonna just ask for gift cards to buy clothes as/when we need them since he's not growing outta sizes fast I wont know what he'll be in or need after Christmas and different brands fit different too.
 3. We're trying rice cereal in the night and morning bottles. It's helping or could just be the timing b/c he's now able to sleep longer at night. I did try to feed him from a spoon and the first time went great...he even helped hold the spoon and pull to his mouth...the next two times not so much as he cried and wanted his warm bottle! Oh well, we've got time so I'm gradually trying it here and there to prepare for the 6 month foods. I did buy a few jars of the "supported sitter/4month" fruits to try out but I think I may wait closer to 5 months.
4. Play times are so much fun with Aiden now!!! He is just so happy. He grabs at everything, chews on his toys, laughs, jabbers what sounds like stuff we constantly say to him, loves his puppy, is so curious, likes to watch a few cartoons (Jungle Junction being a favorite), and even does a little squeal when he gets excited while he's playing! Its so cute! I try to read, sing, and work on milestones like sitting strength and real words too - hey your never too young to start learning!
5. He has grown to really like his Daddy almost as much as he likes his momma! lol At first, he wasn't so sure about any one but me and now that Chris has been home a lot more and he's at the playing stage its so cute to watch them now. He will just smile when Chris comes home from work and bends down to talk to him. Chris is always telling me "Babe, he is just so precious...I love him!" One thing is for sure he is LOVED in this house!! :)
 6. It was Aiden's first Halloween last weekend and he was THE MOST adorable Baby Bumble Bee!! We went to our church Trunk or Treat at Broadway Baptist so decided to go as a family theme. I was Momma Bee, Aiden was Baby Bee, and Chris was the Bee Catcher!! I thought it was a clever idea if I say so myself. lol We had a lot of fun with our friends and went to eat with a few couples after too. It was a lot of our friends first Halloween for their little ones too so we got lots of pictures!
